"People keep saying, 'What a great banjo for the money,'
.. but it’s a great banjo PERIOD!"

Dick Brown

Banjo player Dick Brown has always ascribed to the Crowe philosophy that “sometimes it’s what you DON’T play that makes the difference”. As a member of Lost Highway, one of the few travelling bluegrass bands from the west coast, Dick Brown played with an ensemble of incredible musicians who spread their love for traditional bluegrass.

As a banjo player, Dick Brown has traveled extensively throughout the world for over 42 years, performing, teaching and sharing his love of the banjo and bluegrass music. He has played and recorded with notables such as Long, Lonesome Road, Lynn Morris, Traditional Bluegrass and others.

His playing always reflects his focus on tone, taste and timing. It's no surprise that when he needed a good banjo to take on the road, he chose a Recording King Professional model.

"People keep saying 'what a great banjo for the money,' .. but it’s a great banjo PERIOD!"

Dick says The Professional has the nice, deep clang he looks for in a banjo. Although he has an irreplaceable collection of early 20th century banjos, he believes the Recording King banjo is a perfect model for all-around playing. "It still amazes me that you can get this much banjo for this little money!"
